Welcome to the U.S. Science Support Program Application Portal.
About Us
The U.S. Science Support Program (USSSP) Office facilitates involvement of the U.S. scientific community in the International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP), an international program of basic research in marine geosciences that explores the Earth’s history and environment by recovering core samples and other data from beneath the ocean floor.
You can use the USSSP Application Portal to apply for:
- Workshop support
- Pre-Drilling Activity support
- Sailing scientist positions on an IODP expedition
- Post-Expedition Activity (PEA) awards
- Schlanger Ocean Drilling Fellowships
- Sailing outreach positions through the Onboard Outreach Program
- School of Rock
Active programs are listed at the bottom the page. Detailed descriptions of all programs and their submission deadlines can be found on the U.S. Science Support Program website.
Instructions
Step 1. Click on the Log In button at the top of the page. If you are new to the USSSP Application Portal, click on the Register button to set up an account.
Step 2. Once you register for an account, you'll get an email to confirm your registration. (Make sure to check your spam box, just in case, and add us to your safe sender list.)
Step 3. Once you've logged in, click Programs at the top of the page to see a list of open USSSP-supported programs and start a new application or proposal. Click My Applications at the top of the page to work on in-progress submissions or view completed submissions. Once you've completed all required tasks, make sure to click the SUBMIT button!
If you have multiple roles in the Portal (e.g., Applicant and Reviewer), you can select a role when you log in. To switch roles while logged in, click on your Account Name at the top of the page.
